Outstanding childcare in Ipswich
Wigwams Nursery in Ipswich is a registered charity and a non-profit childcare provider. We are here to provide an outstanding service to the children we care for and not to be a profitable nursery. Our efforts have been recognised by Ofsted who have rated the nursery and childcare we provide as 'outstanding'. We not only provide the best care we can but we also look to develop and educate the children. Ofsted says:
'The children are happy and settled, enjoy a superb range of play and learning experiences and make significant progress at this welcoming, stimulating nursery', Ofsted 2009

Purpose built nursery
Our building is a two storey purpose built nursery making it suitable for childcare needs. It is a secure building with a secure outdoor play area and access to large open playing fields. Plenty of parking is available on site outside the nursery for easy collection and dropping off. We have a full working lift for easy access to the upper floor.
Being closely on site to Whitton Sports Centre we get to use their facilities for softplay with additional activities and trips. We regularly use the sports field for outdoor play which the children get great physical enjoyment from. We also have an allotment which the children use regularly to learn how to grown their own vegetables.
Home cooked lunches
We have a cook, Rajpal who provides fresh balanced meals for the children on a daily basis. Rajpal does free cookery lessons with children and families. We have been given a 5* food hygiene rating by the food standards agency.
Settling your child into our nursery
We pride ourselves on offering excellent childcare at a friendly, welcoming environment while being competitively priced and flexible. We provide the children with learning opportunities and various fun educational activities. Our staff take time to get to know each child very well and work closely with parents to understand their routines so their time in the nursery is the same as at home. To find out about our highly qualified nursery staff please visit our staff page. From our daily experience with children and continuous training we are able to offer advice to parents on a number of issues. To find out more visit our parent support page.
We also have a very effective settling in process to the Nursery where the child has free visits with and without their parent. We encourage parents to stay for the first couple of visits then for the next few visits they leave the child for about and hour to allow them to adjust to their environment without their parent being there. We also offer a home visit by your childs key person so your child gets to know them in their home surroundings. See 'settling in' for more information on this process.
